Wigs by MelodySusie
I like this wig! The adjustable cap can be tightened to fit your head and, once secured, it stays in place reasonably well. It's comfortable and does not make my head sweaty or itchy. Included in the box are a large-mesh hairnet to contain your own hair (invaluable for me because I have long hair), a specialist comb to minimize damage to the synthetic hair, and a hairnet to store the wig neatly, although this type of wig should ideally be kept on a wig stand.
Tips for washing are printed on the box, but one can easily find more information online. If you are going to comb it a lot (which I had to do because one side kept flipping the wrong way), it will develop static but a little specific conditioner can fix that. The main thing is to avoid high heat, and basically this type of wig is pre-styled and made to retain its shape and curl. If you wash it in cold water, the original styling will be preserved. The other thing to avoid is using regular hair shampoo and conditioner which would make it greasy and heavy. |
I chose a short, breezy bob in Light Brown. The colour is entirely natural and the cut is well executed. People who have seen it thought it was my own hair! I trimmed the fringe slightly as it is very long and used a hairdryer on very low heat to fix the rogue flip. It's a lot of fun to change your look completely with a wig and this is a very inexpensive way to try out a new you. Every time I put the wig on, it felt more natural. For the price (currently £15 or less than US $16) this wig is very good quality and, with proper care, it should last well enough. It's actually much better than I expected.
This wig is well constructed with an adjustable cap that stays in place once tightened to fit your head. Tips for washing are printed on the box, but one can easily find more information online. I found that using a little specific conditioner was necessary to contain the static that develops if you comb the wig, as one does. The main thing is to avoid heat, and basically this type of wig is pre-styled and made to retain its shape and curl. If you wash it in cold water, the original waves will be preserved. The other thing to avoid is hair shampoo and conditioner which would make it greasy and heavy. I chose the Blonde Long Curly one, as I was hoping for something that would look somewhat natural. In real life it is a very pale platinum blonde and under artificial light, it's too shiny to pass for real hair, but this style is intended for fun dressing up and parties, I think, so it's fine for that. To look real, it would have to be a lot thicker, especially at the hairline. For such a long wig, it's quite light and comfortable to wear. For the price (currently £15 or less than US $17) it's a good choice and, with proper care, it should last well enough. I like it and it's fun to wear. It certainly makes a bold statement! |
