I have been using this in place of my old phone for the past three months. This is my first Smartphone and, after a period of getting used to it, I could not imagine going back to a “dumb” phone again.
I used to be the one saying that a phone should be for making and receiving calls and nothing else. As my eyesight is no longer perfect, I have now completely changed my tune, and really appreciate the beautiful, crisp screen and huge capabilities of this phone. Even in strong sunlight, the screen is sharp and visible from different angles. Rather than restating the technical specs (which can be read clearly under the product description), I will simply relate my practical experience. The Iron Pro has two cameras, one for taking pictures in front of you and the other for selfies; it can also take video. I find the quality of the images, both still and moving, really impressive, crisp and saturated. Activating the camera and video functions is easy and intuitive, which is very important if you are not familiar with this sort of device. You can download all kinds of apps that make your phone sing and dance. You can listen to your own music or the radio, although the sound is fairly low. To hear better, especially when making phone calls, I like to connect a set of earbuds (UMI make several models like the Divoix DV110 that are very loud and improve the audio experience). This phone has Bluetooth capabilities, so any of the wonderful Bluetooth speakers and earsets available today will add wireless options. The security features for locking the phone are advanced: there is an eye scan and a fingerprint scan. Both work well (although the eye sensor requires good light) but, for me, are a little less immediate than the simple 4-digit code. Your preferences will dictate whether or not you wish to avail yourself, but they are amazing features and worth trying. The Health Monitor features (Pulse and Stress readings taken from your fingertip) are tricky. It takes me several attempts to get a reading, mostly I get told off for moving! |
Internet access is a huge advantage of Smartphones and, once sampled, I would never want to go back. The dual SIM option is great to have. For my purposes, I think I will use the extra slot for memory, though. Battery life is good for this class of product; with my modest usage, the phone needs recharging every 2-3 days.
I had done a fair amount of research into famous name Smartphones when this offer came along and, from what I can see so far, this product answers all the requirements of a user like me at a fraction of the cost of the brands I had been considering.

The first thing I noticed about these earbuds is that they are VERY LOUD. Since I started buying ear buds almost 4 years ago, I've tried a few! The sound quality is good for speech, especially when paired with a Smartphone (which is the idea, I think). For music they are not ideal, perhaps fine for casual listening (while exercising, on the bus) but the sound reproduction of music did not impress me. I found it boomy and very bass-heavy, which is currently a common bias. Depending on the style of music you favour, your opinion may be different.
Build quality seems good, they have a gold tip connector, and the presentation is enhanced by a metal case also containing two other sets of silicone tips to customize the fit, and a small manual. My usual problem with ear buds is that they often will not stay in my ears. These are fine and fit me well. |
The wire is thin and flat, tangle resistent. The microphone works well in phone mode and the single multi-function button allows you to take and end a call, and when listening to music, the basic functions of Play, Pause, Forward and Back. To change the volume, you need to use the controls on your device, though. Considering the very low price, this is a reasonable set of ear buds which I find invaluable to make phone calls.
