Sweetsation Therapy: Anti-Cellulite
very effective anti cellulite scrub that has become rather addictive. When I was offered the chance to test this new product, I was happy to accept, as I'm already familiar with this brand and its excellent products. They were originally created to be safe for pregnant women, so I feel good about all the natural, non-toxic ingredients. What really makes this scrub superb is the combination of paprika and caffeine, as well as all the citrus essential oils (I counted at least five: sweet orange, lemon, lime, pink grapefruit and mandarin). When you open the jar, the contents look really messy but it all washes away easily in the shower. No point in trying to mix the oils with the granulated matter, just dig your hand in scoop out a small handful (I use maybe the equivalent of a walnut for each leg and a little more for my buttocks and stomach area).
Previously I used a loofah, but now I really enjoy the feel of the rough salt and sugar attacking my problem areas. Even a short massage enhances the circulation and it's easy to get all pink and “activated” with very little effort. That's the part I find addictive. Scrubbing away at my thighs feels great and the treatment leaves my skin baby soft and subtly perfumed. I love the smell of this scrub! |
I have been testing this in combination with the Svelte PRO Supercharged Organic Anti-Cellulite Treatment by SweetSation and I would strongly advise anyone considering one of these products to get both, because used together they are sensational. I lost a bit of weight recently and my cellulite was showing more than usual. It's now nearly gone, and I'm thrilled with the firm new look especially because my skin is also amazingly soft, even though it's winter. I can confidently recommend this scrub to anyone who needs some help with “orange peel” skin. I think you will see some improvement after only a few applications and that, in my experience, is rare.

This manual massager was kindly provided for my test and evaluation. I have owned so many similar massaging tools over the last 40 years that I thought I had seen it all. However, this is somewhat different in design and certainly in action. Seven quite large stainless steel spheres are embedded in a flexible plastic body with a strap at the very top. The materials make this massager durable, very easy to wash and suitable for use in the shower or bathtub, but I prefer to use it on dry skin, or in combination with a cellulite-reducing cream or gel.
It glides smoothly over the skin and, unlike other massagers made of rubbery materials, it never ever sticks. The very high placement of the strap means that you can modulate the pressure over the length of the massager, pressing harder with your palm, for example. This gives lots of flexibility and I would class this as an all-around massage tool, not specifically restricted to cellulite treatments, but very capable of easing muscle knots, stiffness and exercise-related pain. It does not pinch, pull hairs or leave bruises and can also be used over clothing. |
My husband has been doing a lot of digging and heavy-duty gardening lately, and inevitably returns in varying degrees of pain and discomfort, sometimes doubled up because straightening his back does not seem an option. With this massager I can address the tight knots in his backside and thighs, and ease the stiffness in his back even before he heads for the shower. I have also found that the rolling spheres are gentle enough to use on bony areas like the ribcage, and if you want to give someone a thrill, use it on the soles of their feet! Heavenly!

I was offered the opportunity to test this new cream, and was delighted to accept as my battle with cellulite is ongoing. I have tried so many products, many quite effective and others quite useless, but for me it's a long-term maintenance thing and, just as with essential oils, the best approach is to rotate among effective products, rather than just keep buying the same one. So I'm always on the lookout and happy to discover the next great thing.
This cream really worked for me. I have to admit that it worked despite my irregular applications. It should be applied twice a day and massaged in the target areas; I only managed once a day, however, I did use it in conjunction with the Phyto*Lite Scrub, and I would advise anyone contemplating this purchase to buy the two and use them together. They boost and complement each other perfectly. First results were visible after only a week. Tighter skin tone, much smoother appearance and a general improvement in circulation. My last cellulite-busting treatment had finished at the end of the summer and being more sedentary did not help. These two products have restored the leaner look that I strive for on my thighs and buttocks especially. I already knew about the brand and found their products to be excellent. Originally created to be safe for pregnant women, the all-natural, non-toxic ingredients give me confidence and when it comes to efficacy, Sweetsation don't pick and choose: they use them all. |
This formulation contains just about all the known fat and cellulite fighting agents. In my view, it's a good approach because we are all different and we respond to different things. Nivea make a cream with Q10 and Carnitine, but for me it did absolutely nothing against cellulite. Here we have L'Carnitine and CoQ10, but also another 25 essential oils and extracts, known to improve circulation (like juniper, pine, birch, fennel, geranium) and detoxify and fight embedded fat (citrus oils like lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit and mandarin), as well as ingredients that seem to work best for me, like caffeine, pepper and horse chestnut.
The container has a pump dispenser and holds 150 ml of product. The aroma is part of the appeal for me, it's sharp, fresh, citrusy with a touch of pine. The thick white lotion stays creamy enough for a massage but then disappears fully into the skin without leaving a sticky residue. You don't need to use too much at one time. I really like this product and, together with the scrub, it's one of the most effective cellulite treatments I have ever used.

After six weeks of forced inactivity with a broken leg, I was left with some excess fat and visible cellulite on my thighs and bottom. When Sweetsation Therapy asked me to try out some of their products, I mentioned my dilemma and they very kindly sent me this anti-cellulite cream and the L'Or de la Mer scrub.
To my delight, the combo really helped and I saw encouraging results in a relatively short time (three weeks). The visible cellulite (giving that awful “orange skin” appearance) has almost disappeared and I have to squeeze my flesh to see any little unevenness. I don't have time to be more pro-active but I have been using the scrub every second day and the cream every evening. It is very likely that a more disciplined approach would yield even better results, as improved circulation is key to disrupting this aggravating condition. |
The tube comes with a handy pump and I find that three pumps are enough to cover each thigh and buttock. Unlike other gels I have used in the past, this product is a thick, silky cream that allows a fairly lengthy massage before being absorbed completely (that in itself provides half the benefit). The scent is not great (like macerating herbs) but it doesn't linger and the quantity of cream I'm using disappears completely without staining my clothes. There is an impressive list of all-natural ingredients which includes all the most effective anti-cellulite and circulation boosting extracts I'm familiar with. I know from past experience that caffeine and seaweed extracts work for me, but I had never seen a product with so many essential oils (juniper, cinnamon, cayenne and wintergreen oils are all great for enhancing blood circulation).
Treating cellulite is an ongoing process, meaning I'll have to continue using something to keep the monster at bay, so I'm very happy to have found two new products that work so well for me and at pretty reasonable prices.

This scrub has become a new favourite routine for me, and it goes beautifully with the NuElle cream from the same line of anti-cellulite solutions. I broke my leg in the summer and, after six weeks of forced inactivity, my thighs and bottom were showing signs of the dreaded cellulite, as well as some unwanted flab. When Sweetsation Therapy approached me about testing some of their products, I was keen to give their anti-cellulite products a try. I was warned that this scrub would be messy in the bathroom, so I was somewhat prepared, however, I have since developed a good routine which keeps the mess to a minimum.
The first time I used my bare hands to spread the scrub and found that it was difficult to keep it from falling off long enough to start the massage. Also I discovered I had a paper cut - you know the old saying about rubbing salt in a wound ... it wasn't pleasant. So the next time I used a loofah glove to spread the scrub. |
The fibres pick up and hold the mixture much more efficiently than my fingers and enhance the massage, and after a few minutes, the oils in the scrub disappear into my skin leaving just the salt and sugar to wash off. The loofah works so well that the massage has become addictive. It's so encouraging to see my thighs getting a little pink as blood is brought to the surface and the scrub leaves my skin baby-soft and very smooth. My shower floor is made of mosaic tile, so it's not slippery at all, but I still make sure to wash the residue away. As scrubs go, it's a hundred times less messy than my home-made mixture of coffee grounds and oil! I also love the scent, it's like lemon and sugar, fresh and sweet.
As for effectiveness, I have been using the scrub every other day and the NuElle cream every evening for about three weeks. It's early to see full results, but the improvement so far is very encouraging and it can only get better. The visible cellulite (what people call “orange skin”) has nearly disappeared and I have to squeeze my flesh to see any little unevenness. Over the years I have tried a number of anti-cellulite creams and gels and this combo is one of the few that actually delivers visible results. The price is also pretty reasonable, especially considering that I can skip moisturizing my legs afterwards.
