Radiant Life
Radiant Life is such an understated brand, yet they have all the things I love in skin care: cruelty-free, no animal testing, natural and organic ingredients, vegan-friendly and made in the UK. I have tried several products from this brand and they are all effective, kind to my skin and very affordable. I also love the simple but pretty labels.
Another brand I had never heard of which has become a new favourite. This is the kind of natural product that has everything I look for in anti-ageing skin care. All the ingredients are botanicals, powerful natural extracts and specific skin repairing agents like marine collagen and hyaluronic acid with added vitamins. Among others I noticed all my favourite natural oils: avocado, rosehip, coconut, argan, apricot kernel, sunflower seed, but also arnica, which gives it a soothing action.
The cream is intensely white, thick and silky. I love the way it disappears into my skin after a short massage. I'm using it as a nourishing night cream but it's also perfect for my mature skin for the daytime, it makes a lovely base for makeup and does not leave a residue to spoil my foundation. Together with a very special serum and the excellent Eye Gel of the same brand, it has softened some eye wrinkles that had appeared recently and I'm hoping it's a permanent improvement because it's finally sunbathing weather and I need a little tan! |
Because of its very fresh perfume, almost not discernible, my husband has been recruited to give his masculine viewpoint. It suits him just as well and has helped calm a recent irritation from something he was exposed to while trimming a hedge. The glass tub holds 50 ml, a standard quantity for face cream, but so little is needed that I can see this product lasting well. We have both been using it twice a day for weeks now and haven't even reached the half-way point.

Don't be fooled by the low price. This is a really wonderful skin cream that has produced visible results after only a month of regular use, and without all the noxious chemicals still polluting some more expensive, more famous products.
This is a completely natural preparation, without noxious chemicals and all the artificial additives that I have happily given up two years ago. The neat plastic bottle holds 1 fluid ounce or 30 ml of gel, a generous quantity for this type of product.
I love the pump dispenser which allows me to accurately dispense the tiny amount of gel required for the eye contour. Since it is so good at reducing puffiness, I use it on top of the eyelids as well as below the eyes. After a month's twice-daily test, I have found it to be one of the best specific products I have ever tried and absolutely gentle and safe for this very fragile area. The active ingredients include cucumber and green tea, the most powerful plant-based extracts to address dark circles, skin discolouration, puffiness and the visible signs of insufficient sleep. The rest are botanicals and naturally-derived agents that effectively hydrate and revitalize tired skin: marine collagen, peptides, vitamins E and A (retinol), argan and avocado oils, blueberry and passionfruit extracts. |
I have had ongoing problems with dark circles, puffiness and deep lines, and I found that this gel has an immediately beneficial effect, at first making the area feel slightly warm and then cool and relaxed. It makes a very good base for make-up. I can even apply concealer, which sometimes tends to settle in the creases, without getting the usual caked-on look. Because of its delicate cucumber scent, it is very suitable for men as well. My husband has been using this gel with great results. We are both in our sixties, so I cannot claim to have a smooth, unlined eye contour, but my face looks a lot fresher when I do use it (I have noticed a difference when I have skipped the gel on purpose for a few days).
Together with the Marine Collagen Cream from the same brand, this gel has become a new favourite. It is every bit as good as the very best skin care I have ever used. I suggest giving it a fair test, at least 4 weeks, especially if dark circles are your main concern, although I think the pleasantly cooling effect is immediately noticeable. A top quality product which is probably more effective than others costing a lot more. |
I've been fighting cellulite for many years now, and have tried a lot of topical solutions: creams, lotions, gels, scrubs, different brands, both cheap and expensive. When I started my test period of this cream, 5 weeks ago, I was taking an enforced break from my normal daily workout due to a painful thigh muscle tear. Although exercise does nothing to diminish cellulite locally, the extra calories burned help keep your shape. So, while I could do nothing else, I applied some effort into massaging this cream for a good ten minutes a day (by the way, the instructions say to use it twice a day).
The tube has a pump dispenser, and contains 100 ml (an average amount for this type of product and I still have some left). I find that three pumps are enough to cover each thigh and buttock. Unlike some gels I have used in the past, this is a very thick, silky cream that allows a fairly lengthy massage before being absorbed completely (which is half the battle). It does not stain clothes and I can dress right after using it. I love the subtle scent of essential oils although it disappears fairly quickly. The ingredients are all natural: olive oil, apricot kernel oil and coconut oil to tone and firm the skin, and extracts of melon, strawberry and papaya to mobilize fat deposits and improve blood circulation. It is not tested on animals |
From experience, I know you can't judge an anti-cellulite product after a few days. Having given this a fair test of well over a month, I've seen very good results with this product. The visible cellulite (orange peel) has almost disappeared and I have to squeeze my flesh to see any indentations. Treating cellulite is an ongoing process, and I'm very happy any time I find a new product that works for me, is all natural and cruelty-free, AND at a really reasonable price.

A deceptively small tub (actually containing 60 ml) of very dense white cream with a gorgeous, light perfume and a fluffy texture that literally sinks into my skin. Perfect day cream to go under make-up without turning oily. Considering the really affordable price (£11), the product offers great value.
According to the description, it is meant as a treatment for premature signs of ageing like lines, wrinkles, dryness but also discolouration. Depending on your age, you may want to follow with a moisturiser (which I do at night). I have been using it in combination with the companion Hyaluronic Acid Serum and the Eye Gel. During my month-long test period, I noticed some excellent results, especially a softening of the deepest lines and some lightening of age-related discolouration. |
At 63 I'm not likely to see a miraculous disappearance of all wrinkles, but I expect an anti-ageing product to keep my skin as supple as possible. The natural ingredients in this specialist cream are very gentle but effective and, in my experience so far, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C are the best combination to counteract the inevitable loss of volume and tone in my mature skin. The rest are a cocktail of the best skin-improving essential oils and botanical extracts like Peach Kernel Oil, Argan Oil, Macadamia Oil, Safflower Oil and Geranium Oil.

Excellent anti-ageing product with the liquid gel texture of classic hyaluronic acid-based serums. Other botanical extracts like Aloe Vera, Camomile and Witch Hazel contribute to the tightening and soothing action.
The addition of Vitamin C gives this product a delicious scent of burnt oranges, rather like the topping on crème caramel. I love opening the bottle and dispensing the contents. A few drops is all that I require and the quantity of 30 ml is a good size for this product; considering the price (currently £10), it's fantastic value. The serum is quickly absorbed and carries out his function of improving absorption of the following product, as well as providing the powerful anti-ageing action of its active components. In my experience so far, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C have been the most effective ingredients to counteract the inevitable loss of volume and hydration in my mature skin (I'm 63). Vitamin C preparations also help gently fade discolouration, which is an added bonus. |
I used this in combination with the companion Hyaluronic Acid Cream and the Eye Gel. They gave me excellent results and helped keep the wrinkles at bay during my month-long test period. At my age I'm not likely to see a miraculous disappearance of all lines, but I am looking to keep my skin as supple and nourished as possible.
